Invisalign

Invisalign uses clear aligners to gradually straighten teeth. As they have no brackets or wires, the aligners are comfortable and can be taken out for short periods, meaning you can keep your teeth clean and eat whatever you choose.

Many adult patients are put off having orthodontic treatment due to the noticeable nature of some of the treatments, such as metal braces. However, Invisalign challenges that misconception as they are nearly impossible to spot when worn. They are comfortable and easy to keep clean.

How does Invisalign work?

Unlike most orthodontic treatments, you are given multiple sets of appliances that progress towards the ideal positon of your teeth. How many we make depends on the severity of your case, however each aligner is worn for 2 weeks and then you replace with the next set.

Each aligner is slightly different, encourage the teeth to take minute movements. We create these aligners using 3D technology that accurately records images of your teeth. These scans are sent to the laboratory where the custom aligners are made. We call you back in for your fitting once we have all your aligners and talk you through their order and how best to look after them.

Usually the straightening process takes 6-12 months but you will have to wear a retainer after treatment to keep your teeth in their new position.
