Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are used to change the way your teeth look and feel when you smile. Veneers are thin porcelain shells that are placed on the front surface of the teeth. They can conceal discoloured, chipped or irregular teeth, and also be used to disguise unsightly gaps.

Patients tend to choose to have veneers because they don’t need much preparation before the fitting. Because they are so thin, only a small amount of enamel needs to be removed from the surface of the tooth.

What does having a veneer fitted involve?

Before the fitting, we prepare the tooth, removing any enamel if necessary. We take an impression of the tooth and then use this to create a custom-made veneer in a laboratory. When ready, this veneer is fixed to the tooth with a strong dental adhesive.

If well looked after, veneers can provide an attractive and long lasting answer to dental imperfections.
